How AI Helped Me Rethink a Core Inspection Tool

What began as a simple camera replacement turned into a sharper evaluation of image quality, optical capability, workflow efficiency, and how AI can accelerate real equipment decisions in the field.
For years, I used a Panasonic Lumix point-and-shoot as a dedicated inspection camera because it was durable, dependable, and field-proven. But once the gap between that older platform and today’s Samsung camera systems became too obvious to ignore, I decided to evaluate the issue properly rather than replace it by routine. Using AI as a technical research and comparison tool, I worked through the differences between my existing camera, newer Panasonic options, and several Samsung Galaxy Ultra models, then measured those findings against the realities of inspection workflow, image transfer, battery logistics, and used-market pricing. The result was not simply a tool upgrade. It was a smarter field documentation system and a practical example of how AI can help serious professionals make better operational decisions with less wasted time.
